E’ con orgoglio e impegno che
la S.Stefano Sport si appresta ad ospitare, dal 13 al 15
marzo, il girone di qualificazione della Eurolega di basket
in carrozzina.
Dunque ancora una manifestazione di grande prestigio e di
respiro internazionale per la nostra società, dopo le
numerose organizzate negli anni scorsi. Segno della serietà
della S.Stefano Sport e della credibilità che la nostra
società sportiva si è conquistata a tutti i livelli nel
corso degli anni.
Da oltre 30 anni siamo attivi, con entusiasmo e impegno,
nella promozione dello sport praticato da persone
diversamente abili. I sacrifici sono molti ma altrettante
sono le soddisfazioni nel vedere tanti giovani riuscire a
rigenerarsi fisicamente e a rilanciarsi socialmente
attraverso lo sport e le attività organizzate in seno alla
nostra società.
Nel corso della manifestazione di marzo tanti atleti
arriveranno a Porto Potenza Picena, sarà una grande festa
di sport, un evento per il basket in carrozzina. Un momento
che potrà servire, a tanta gente, per scoprire la bellezza
di questa disciplina.

It is with
pride and commitment that the S.Stefano Sport Club is
preparing to entertain, from 13 to march 15 the
qualification round of the wheelchair basketball
Euroleague.
Therefore still an event of great prestige and
international breathing for our society, after the many
organized in recent years. Sign of the seriousness of the
S.Stefano Sport and credibility that our club has won at
all levels over the years.
For more than 30 years we have been active, with enthusiasm
and commitment in the promotion of sport practiced by
people with disabilities. The sacrifices are numerous but
as many are satisfactions to see so many young people to
manage physically themselves to regenerate and socially to
revitalize them trough sport and activity organized within
our society.
During the manifestation of next march many athletes are
arriving in Porto Potenza Picena, it will be a great
celebration of sport, an event for wheelchair basketball. A
moment that could be useful to so much people, to discover
the beauty of this discipline.

Il girone di qualificazione
della Coppa Campioni di basket in carrozzina è un
appuntamento di prestigio per la società organizzatrice
S.Stefano Sport ma anche un motivo di vanto per il Comune.
Nei giorni della manifestazione il palazzetto di Porto
Potenza Picena ospiterà tanti atleti e società sportive
provenienti da varie zone d’Europa e i riflettori si
accenderanno sul nostro territorio che potrà essere
apprezzato per le sue peculiarità e per le bellezze
paesaggistiche.
Mi complimento, per questo importante impegno assunto, con
la S.Stefano Sport che, da tanti anni, rappresenta
un’eccellenza del nostro Comune a livello nazionale e
internazionale per lo sport praticato dai diversamente
abili.
D’altronde il territorio comunale vanta circa 30 società
sportive e un’ampia varietà di discipline praticate, indice
di un movimento in fermento che contribuisce nella maniera
più sana alla crescita e all’educazione dei nostri giovani.
Auguro alla squadra della S.Stefano Sport i migliori
successi nel corso della manifestazione, per continuare a
tenere alto il nome della società sportiva e quello del
nostro Comune nel panorama dello sport per disabili.
The qualification round of
the Champions Cup of wheelchair basketball is a prestigious
happening for the organizer sport club of S.Stefano Sport
but also a source of proud for the town.
In the days of the event the Porto Potenza Picena’s sport
hall is giving hospitality to many athletes and sport clubs
coming from various parts of Europe and the spotlight are
lighting on our territory that could be appreciated for its
features and the beautiful landscape.
I compliment, for this important commitment, with the
S.Stefano Sport Club that, from many years, represents
excellence in our town at national and international
first-class for sport practiced by the disabled athletes.
Besides, the municipality has about 30 sport clubs and a
several variety of disciplines practiced, a sign of a
movement in turmoil that contributes in a more healthy at
the growth and education of our youth.
I wish at the team of S.Stefano sport club the best
achievements during the event, to continue to hold high the
name of the club and our town in the landscape of sport for
disabled.

Porto Potenza Picena ed il
basket in carrozzina: un binomio indissolubile ed un
connubio che, da anni, è in grado di scrivere pagine
importanti per lo sport paralimpico italiano ed
internazionale.
Per voi della “S.Stefano“, una delle prime società nate al
fine di diffondere la pratica cestistica tra le persone
disabili, l’appuntamento con la Euroleague rappresenta un
nuovo ed importante tassello nella costruzione di quel
concetto di sport che tutti noi vogliamo vivere pienamente,
perché in grado di coniugare al meglio aspetti quali
agonismo, inclusione sociale e superamento di qualsiasi
tipo di ostacolo.
La presenza di ben quattro squadre europee in questa prima
fase della massima competizione continentale è motivo di
orgoglio ed allo stesso concreta speranza di vedere i
nostri club ai vertici europei, come già accaduto in
passato e come tutti noi auspichiamo possa ripetersi.
Certo del successo della manifestazione, desidero inviare a
tutti voi, atleti ed organizzatori, il mio più sentito e
sincero in bocca al lupo, affinché Porto Potenza Picena sia
teatro dell’ennesima bella pagina di sport per il basket in
carrozzina e, più in generale, per l’intero movimento
paralimpico italiano.

Picena and Wheelchair Basketball have been going hand in
hand for years now, writing important pages in Paralympic
Sport, both internationally and in Italy. For you,
belonging to “S.Stefano”, one of the very first clubs to
put basketball among the disabled, the appointment with
Euroleague represents a new, important piece in the
construction of the kind of sport that we all strive to
experience, because it best portrays the values of
competition, social inclusion and the overcoming any kind
of obstacle.
The presence of four European teams in this first phase of
the utmost regional competition is reason for pride and
hope in seeing our clubs at the top of the European ladder,
like already in the past and like we all wish again for the
future.
Certain of the success of the event, I personally and
sincerely wish all of you, athletes and organizers, good
luck so that Porto Potenza Picena can be once again, the
theatre of yet another great sports happening for the world
of wheelchair basketball, and more generally, for the whole
Paralympic Movement.

A completare il Palmares dello
Sport Provinciale arriva il 13 e il 15 marzo p.v. il girone
di qualificazione alla Coppa dei Campioni 2009 per il
basket in carrozzina. Il Comitato Internazionale IWBF non
poteva non scegliere l’Associazione Sportiva S.Stefano per
organizzare questo importantissimo evento. L’entusiasmo, la
competenza e la professionalità degli amici del S.Stefano
sono sicuro viatico ad una edizione memorabile. Alle
formazioni straniere che scenderanno al Pala Principi di
Porto Potenza Picena, l’assicurazione che troveranno
l’accoglienza sportiva e non di alto livello, agli
organizzatori il plauso del Comitato Olimpico unitamente a
quello di tutto lo Sport Provinciale.

Complete the Palmares of the Provincial Sport Trophies it
is arriving on next 13 and 15 March the preliminary round
to the Champion’s Cup 2009 for wheelchair basketball. The
International Committee IWBF could not choose the S.Stefano
sport Club to organize this important event. The
enthusiasm, the competence and the professionalism of the
friend of S.Stefano are safe viaticum to a memorable
edition. To the foreign teams that are coming down to the
Palaprincipi sport hall of Porto Potenza Picena, the
assurance that they will find a sports welcome and not of
high level, to the organizers the approval of the Olympic
Committee together with the all Provincial
Sport.

After previously organising a
number of preliminary rounds and finals in the different
EuroCup competitions it is a pleasure to now welcome you
all here again in Porto Potenza Picena (PPP) for a round of
the Euroleague 1 where host A.S. S. Stefano takes care of
the local organisation. Knowing Mr Gianfranco Poggi and his
crew, I am sure that all teams will look back on a superb
organisation, with good accommodation and food and
excellent playing facilities in the small beach town of
PPP.
Five strong teams have been allocated to this round and
they all will be fighting for a spot in the finals of the
Champions or André Vergauwen Cup finals later this year.
I am sure that we will have a high level competition.
I think that the spectators will see a tournament of high
level encounters with these five teams from all over
Europe.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to attend this round
myself but in my heart I will be with you in PPP. I wish
all participants a successful tournament conducted in a
sportsman like manner.
Dopo aver
organizzato numerosi gironi preliminari e finali nelle
diverse competizioni europee, è un piacere dare il
benvenuto a voi tutti qui a Porto Potenza Picena per il
girone di Eurolega 1, dove la squadra ospitante del
S.Stefano Sport si occupa dell’organizzazione dell’evento.
Conoscendo Gianfranco Poggi ed il suo gruppo, sono certo
che le squadre partecipanti saranno soddisfatte di una
splendida organizzazione, con una buona sistemazione e buon
cibo, nonché una eccellente rete di servizi nella cittadina
marittima di Porto Potenza Picena.
Cinque forti squadre sono state assegnate a questo girone e
tutte lotteranno per un posto nelle finali di Coppa
Campioni o Andrè Vergauwen Cup di quest’anno. Sono certo
che avremo un alto livello di competizione. Credo che il
pubblico assisterà ad un torneo di alto livello con gli
incontri di queste cinque squadre provenienti da tutta
Europa. Sfortunatamente non sarà possibile per me essere
presente al girone, ma il mio cuore sarà con voi a Porto
Potenza Picena. Auguro a tutti i partecipanti un buon
risultato in un torneo condotto con il corretto spirito
sportivo.

La manifestazione di basket in
carrozzina organizzata dalla S.Stefano Sport a Porto
Potenza Picena pone la nostra Provincia al centro di un
rilevante evento sportivo che va oltre i confini nazionali.
E’ un onore che proprio una città del maceratese ospiti un
appuntamento così importante, che vede protagonisti ragazzi
diversamente abili. La S.Stefano Sport, d’altra parte, da
decenni rappresenta un’eccellenza nel settore dello sport
per disabili.
Anche la Provincia, a suo modo e per le sue competenze, si
sta impegnando nei confronti di chi ha più bisogno per
offrire risposte adeguate alle molteplici difficoltà che si
presentano quotidianamente. Ritengo che dare tutte le
opportunità alle persone disabili sia un preciso dovere
dell’intera comunità e la Provincia di Macerata in questi
anni ha dimostrato più volte, e concretamente, il suo
impegno e le sue attenzioni nei confronti dei disabili, che
sentiamo a noi vicini, sia per quanto riguarda il loro
inserimento nel mondo del lavoro, sia nelle imprese
sportive.
A tutti i partecipanti alla
manifestazione di Porto Potenza Picena rivolgo un caloroso
saluto ed un sincero augurio di successo.
The manifestation of
wheelchair basketball organized by S.Stefano sport club in
Porto Potenza Picena puts our Province at the centre of a
huge sporting event that goes beyond national boundaries.
It is really an honor that a town of Macerata gives
hospitality to an event so important, that see as
protagonists athletes with disabilities. The S.Stefano
sport club, on the other hand, for decades represents
excellence in the field of sport for disabled people. The
Province, in its way and its responsibilities, works in
confrontation to who most necessitate to provide adequate
answers to the several difficulties that daily arise.
I believe that given all the opportunities to people with
disabilities is a duty of all community and the Province of
Macerata has showed many times in recent years practically
its effort and its mind for people with disabilities, who
we feel close to us, both regards their integration in the
world of work and in the sport exploits. To all
participants in the manifestation of Porto Potenza Picena I
turn a warm greetings and a sincere wish for
success.

Le Marche ospitano un
avvenimento sportivo internazionale di grande rilievo
agonistico e di elevato valore sociale. Attraverso
l’organizzazione affidata alla Santo Stefano Sport, dal 13
al 15 marzo Porto Potenza Picena diventa la capitale del
basket in carrozzina con le gare del più prestigioso e
importante torneo della stagione. Una competizione che
tutti i praticanti di questa disciplina vorranno vivere da
protagonisti, visto il fascino e il prestigio della stessa.
I colori nazionali saranno difesi dalla squadra marchigiana
e questo rende ancor più gratificante l’evento per la
nostra regione. Agli atleti, ai tecnici e agli
accompagnatori formulo il benvenuto nelle Marche e auguro i
migliori successi, convinto che sapranno dare vita a un
avvenimento dove lo sport si manifesterà in tutte le sue
sfaccettature più autentiche. Spettacolo, competizione,
aggregazione, integrazione e solidarietà, animeranno

and high social value. Through the organization entrusted
to S.Stefano Sport Club, from 13th to
15th off March Porto Potenza
Picena is becoming the capital of wheelchair basketball
with the competitions of the most prestigious and important
tournament of the season. A competition that all
practitioners of this discipline will be live as
protagonists, in view of the charm and prestige of it.
National colors will be defended by the team of Marche
region and this it makes even more satisfying the event for
our region. To athletes, technicians and escorts I express
welcome in the Marche region and I wish best success,
convinced that they will give life to an event where sport
will be expressed in all its most authentic facets.
Entertainment, competition, aggregation, integration and
solidarity, certainly is giving life to the three days of
